Among the city’s set of Historical Artistic works, the civil works are especially noteworthy. A clear example is the number of stately palaces to be found in many of its streets, most of them built in the 16th and 18th centuries. The blend of styles is evident in their façades and interiors: Renaissance, baroque, neoclassical… and we can appreciate the evolution of decoration from more sober styles to the most elaborate. All of them take us back to a time when the power of certain families was expressed in material form in their houses, which fortunately remain with us to this day as our heritage.
